The Ployart/Noam group is a five piece international band based in Amsterdam. Inspired by Charles Mingus, they play bluesy, avant-garde and swinging music. With twists and turns they bounce between extremes - from lyrical ballads to tumultuous ‘burners’ - using eccentric tempo changes and dynamic contrasts to playfully navigate a capricious musical landscape. Their original compositions are rooted in the traditional idioms and colours of jazz music from the 50s and 60s but also flirt with the timbres of modern life’s absurdity in 2025.
